Conditions of participation
General
The competition is aimed at outstanding young vocal groups from all over the world. It will take place from 27th to 29th April 2012, competition performances will be on 27th and 28th April 2012.
All groups will compete in the same category and may perform at the competition either with or
without amplification. The competition is open to ensembles with between three and eight members.
The average age of the ensemble’s members shall not exceed 28 years on the closing date for entries
(15th January 2012). Instruments are not allowed in the competition.
At least half of the repertoire which is to be performed should correspond
in the number of voices to the number of ensemble members (“one-to-a-part”).
Groups who already participated in the contest are welcome to apply again (except award-winners).
Competition performance
Each group will be allowed to perform for a total of between 15 and 20 minutes on stage for its competition performance.
The time allowed includes both the musical performance and any spoken introduction, etc. In case of exceeding the time limit,
the jury withholds the right to deduct points. During competition performances, ensembles may not be aided by a conductor.
PA
A PA along with an audio technician will be made available to groups requiring amplification following liaison with the competition organisers. Vocal groups using amplification are recommended to bring their own audio technician with them to the competition.

Costs
Participants must pay their own travel and accommodation expenses,
although the organisers will be happy to recommend and/or arrange accommodation on request.
Groups who are admitted to the competition must pay an entry fee of €100 per group.
The selected groups shall have the opportunity to purchase concessionary tickets to
all the festival concerts held during the competition depending on availability.
All groups participating in the contest will have free entry to the final concert of the festival on 29th April 2012.
Performance fees
No fees shall be paid for any performances by competition entrants during the International
Festival of Vocal Music a cappella, including for the performance by the award-winner during the final concert.
The organisers reserve the right to make audio and/or video recordings of all the events taking place during
the competition and to use these recordings in connection with the competition.
Competition entrants shall not be entitled to receive royalties or any other
form of remuneration in connection with these recordings. Prize-winners agree to
their inclusion free of charge on any live recordings produced during the festival and subsequently released.
