Who can apply?


The competition is adressed to outstanding young vocal groups from all over the world. It takes place from May 6 to 9, 2020.


All groups compete in the same category and may perform at the competition either with or without amplification. The competition is open to ensembles of three to eight members. The average age of the ensemble’s members shall not exceed 29 years on the closing date for entries (January 19, 2020). Instruments are not allowed in the competition. At least half of the repertoire which is to be performed should correspond in the number of voices to the number of ensemble members (“one-to-a-part”). Groups who already participated in the contest are welcome to apply again (except award winners).

  • Furthermore you have to send live recordings and [optional] studio recordings. Based on this the jury will make a decision for the admission to the contest.   • Please send a biography, current group photo and ID copys to verify your average age, too. Please send via filesharing.

In case of admission: In principle, Accommodation and travel have to be organised and covered by the ensembles. There is the possibillity to book a cheap and central accomodation with rehearsal room in „Gästezentrum Ernst Jäschke“ through contest office with the final confirmation (limited places).
